Artistamps
Posted in Digital Artwork on July 23rd, 2009 |
I’m a big fan of faux postage, and all the weirdness that goes with it. Although I haven’t gone through the entire creation of an imaginary land, I do have certain general rules for my own stamps:
1. They’re all labeled with Poste Lisani.
2. The currency is old Italian lira or centisimi.
3. They come in suites rather than individual stamps.
- I generally use photos of my dog Weevil to test out new ideas, so he ended up on my very first set of artistamps.
- This stamp was originally going to be a set of four titled Beauties, picturing women from around the world. Somehow, I never got back to doing the other three.
- This set of four was designed to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the teddy bear. (I used to design and manufacture my own line of artist teddy bears.)
- This set of four was designed for an issue of ARTitude 'zine.
- I designed this set of three to use in a vintage nude deco swap.
- I designed this set of four stamps for the altered books list third anniversary in 2002.
- Another design for the altered books list third anniversary.
- I do a lot of deco and altered book pages about living in Texas. I designed these stamps to use on some deco pages.
- I did this set of four stamps to use in a faux postage swap deco from ARTdecos.
